Needs a refurbishment to bring it into the 21 st centuary. The room was so cold even with the spare heater they brought to the room I had to sleep fully clothed including socks and was still cold. Beautiful building and grounds just needs updating. I come here often for a drink in the bar just never stayed overnight before.
I went for afternoon tea at Danesfield on Thursday afternoon. It was incredible. Fantastic service, great food and most importantly a beautiful atmosphere. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by a receptionist/concierge and shown to your table. The waiters are extremely polite and we had a beautiful glass of champagne to accompany our afternoon tea. If you are looking for somewhere to treat someone to afternoon tea, look no further! Really disappointing. Had a very pricey dinner on the terrace and whilst the food was good, we had to contend with another couple also dining that decided to blare music from their phones on the table next to us. The staff didnt seem to think this was a problem. The waiters continually forgot to bring out parts of our order and were generally rushed off their feet. There was also a wedding the same weekend which the hotel were understaffed to cope with and it severely impacted on us being able to enjoy the hotels facilities. There was no mention this would be happening prior to our arrival.
